About pump.fun

pump.fun is a memecoin launchpad on Solana. Anyone can create a coin without a platform fee, and it starts trading straight away on a bonding curve. When the curve completes, the coin graduates to PumpSwap, pump.fun’s own exchange at swap.pump.fun. Coin pages include livestreams, and creators earn a share of trading fees.

Since May 2026 the app also lets you trade tokens on Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain using SOL; new coins still launch only on Solana. There are iOS and Android apps.

Since September 2026 you sign in with email, Google, Apple or GitHub, which creates an embedded wallet through Privy that you can export. Bonding-curve trades cost 1.25% (0.95% to the protocol, 0.30% to the creator); PumpSwap pools charge 0.30% to 1.25% depending on the pool.

  • Create a coin with no platform fee
  • Bonding-curve trading from the first second
  • Graduation to the PumpSwap exchange
  • Creator fee sharing across up to 10 wallets
  • Livestreams on coin pages
  • iOS and Android apps

Wallet Permissions & Data

What pump.fun asks of your wallet and what it collects, as researched by DappStore from its public documentation. Not declared by its developers.

Review carefully

Permissions worth checking before you agree.

  • Creates a wallet for you inside the app (embedded wallet)
Signing in with email or a social account creates a wallet through Privy. pump.fun says the key is encrypted end to end and you can export it.
  • Asks you to sign transactions
You approve each launch and trade.

Low risk

Permissions that cannot move funds on their own.

  • Requires an email account
Sign-in uses email, Google, Apple or GitHub (browser-wallet sign-in was retired in September 2026).

Data collected

Security

In May 2024 a former employee used admin access to take about $1.9M from bonding curves; pump.fun paused trading and said it would make users whole. A US class action against its operator (Aguilar v. Baton Corporation) is ongoing; its claims are allegations, not findings. pump.fun’s linking dialog for former browser-wallet users requests that wallet’s private key. pump.fun says it never asks for keys anywhere else, so treat any other request as phishing.

No security audits listed.
